Statement of Faith

I. The Scriptures

The Holy Bible is the word of God, divinely inspired and written by men, with God as its author. We hold that the scriptures are inerrant in the original writings and is a perfect treasure of divine instruction - containing the complete revelation of the will of God as it pertains to the salvation of man as well as serving as the divine and final authority for all of Christian faith and life. Being divinely inspired and without error, the scriptures are infallible and inerrant, serving as the ultimate standard by which all human conduct, creeds, philosophies must be judged. All Scripture testifies to the person and work of Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

II. The Holy Trinity

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; co-existent, eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent.

God the Father

We believe that God as Father is Lord of Heaven and earth, reigning over all His creation and the universe. He is father to all by adoption who become children of God through faith in His Son Jesus Christ.

God the Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary. Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities. He identified Himself completely with mankind yet was without sin. By His personal obedience, He fulfilled the law and its demands and in His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of men from sin, according to the Scriptures. Further, He bodily arose from the dead, and ascended into heaven, where he now sits exalted at the right hand of God the Father. He now rules and reigns and ever lives to make intercession on behalf of His people, of whom He is their High Priest and Advocate.

God the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the spirit of God, fully divine. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. In His ministry to us he convicts man of sin, righteousness, judgment, and effects regeneration. The Holy Spirit indwells all believers and serves to be our instructor, guide, and comforter. He empowers believers for service and bestows upon them spiritual gifts by which serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption, serving as a deposit guaranteeing that God will complete the work He has begun. The Holy Spirit enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

III. Mankind

We believe that all human beings were created in the image of God, male and female, as the crowning work of God’s creation. By his own volition, man chose to sin against God and thereby subject the human race to bondage in sin. By failing to resist the temptation of the devil, man transgressed the command of God and fell from his original state of innocence into condemnation — thereby becoming enemies by both nature & choice of a holy and just God. Only through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

IV. Salvation

Salvation is gift of God’s grace, it cannot be earned by human good works but is freely given to all who repent of their sins and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ in faith. They are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life. This provision of Salvation is made possible by our Lord Jesus Christ dying for our sins on the cross and bodily rising from the dead on the third day — according to the Scriptures. He is our representative and substitutionary sacrifice, satisfying the justice of God on the basis of His shed blood.

V. Sanctification

We believe that sanctification from sin is the will of God for all believers — who by the work of God are positionally set apart and made holy, being clothed with the righteousness of Christ. Having been filled with the Holy Spirit, all believers ought to earnestly pursue obedience to God’s word and continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of God — becoming more like Christ and conformed to His image.

VI. Glorification

Glorification is the final benefit of redemption — being the final stage of our sanctification made perfect. In the twinkling of an eye, God shall glorify all believers in the resurrection on the last day, conforming them to the image of His risen and glorified Son. When we see Christ on that day, we shall be as He is — having been renewed to perfection by God.

VII. Great Commission

The Great Commission is given to the Church, whose mission it is to preach the Gospel to all the world, baptize and make disciples of all nations — teaching them to obey Christ.

VIII. The Devil

We believe that Satan is the devil and continually roams about the earth as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He continually works against the plans and purposes of God, seeking to destroy the souls of men. The devil and all his angels and all who do not receive Christ as their personal Savior will eternally perish in the lake of fire.

IX. Ordinances

Baptism - is an act of obedience whereby the believer is immersed in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.

The Lord’s Supper - is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Lord Jesus Christ and anticipate His second coming.

X. Last Things

We believe in the pre-millenial bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ and the bodily resurrection of the dead - of the believer to everlasting blessedness and life with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgement and everlasting conscious punishment in Hell.
